so here are a bunch of examples of people who fail.
mascot fail
dating fail
stripper fail - but youll see it coming
which brings me to my next point:
architecture fail. The “profession of architecture is over.” Yup - im making a statement that bold. It really isnt that bold though is it, think about it. I know a ton of architecture and design people read this, so to you people, think about revit, maya, rhino, CAD, MAX, the future, and their convergence. What is the ultimate goal of parametrics? Has architecture lost its authorship?
I cant see many different end results besides softwares that enable the user to input their requirements and specifics and be able to immediately see the result of their equation. It seems that everything down to the their style will be able to be input into the equation. Here is an example: 20,ooo square foot building, 2 rooms, location, material, (architecture style preference - “hadid, mies, etc.), etc. Then the software shows the building instantly including building plans sections and rendering similar to how revit does it now. You will be able to adjust any small detail and the whole model will adjust. I know what a bunch of you parametric and maya heads are thinking. That the authorship remains in ones stewardship of the design. I believe that today. But when the programs become even more efficient and customizable to the infinite degree, no one will pay an rewarding enough amount to justify a whole career on it.
I cant see many different paths to take besides this considering the capitalist econimy where everyine whats to have the next best thing and make a buck off it, including me. So if this is the end of the architect, what will the “creative class do”, and engineers for that matter? I dont really know. Software engineering for sure. But it is pretty obvious that due to economic and efficiency most people will try and just use the sofware. So an architecture or engineering degree wont be that useful.
i guess the value of the creative class will be in their “creative” ability. Which I am going to leave hella vague. Its definition is up to you, booo yaaaaahhhh. Whatever it is, the profession of “architecture” as we know it was short lived, and is over, and the sooner you realize it the better off youll be.
